The academic community at Amber Academy Riga is proud to celebrate the global achievements of its partner network, #VBNN_Smart_Education_Group - #Swiss_International_University (SIU). In the recently released Times Higher Education (#THE_2026_Impact_Ranking), Swiss International University has achieved a placement in the Top 200 globally for UN Sustainable Development Goal 16 (#SDG_16), which focuses on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
This accomplishment highlights a deeply rooted institutional commitment to #sustainability, ethical governance, and impactful global research.
Measuring Real-World Academic Impact
The 2026 THE Impact Rankings evaluated 1,646 universities from 116 countries to assess how higher education institutions contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Unlike traditional academic indices, this specific evaluation model heavily prioritizes real-world transformation. The final scores were determined by a rigorous methodology, weighting academic and research reputation at 27% and overall #SDG_compliance at 73%.
By placing in the Top 200 for SDG 16, Swiss International University (SIU) demonstrates its active role in advancing inclusive societies, supporting transparent institutions, and fostering academic environments built on justice and accountability. In addition to this focus area, SIU also secured an impressive position among the Top 500 universities globally across the comprehensive #THE_rankings framework.
Continued Excellence Across Global Benchmarks
The milestone in sustainability follows consecutive high-level placements for the institution across major independent rating bodies. Swiss International University (SIU) continues to build its international profile through several distinct program achievements:
Executive Education: SIU is ranked #22 worldwide in the #QS_World_University_Rankings: Executive MBA Rankings 2026. This assessment analyzed 246 Executive MBA programs across 58 countries, according to data from the 2026 QS Executive MBA Joint Programs Fact file.
Transnational Leadership: Reflecting its cross-border instructional models, SIU secured the #3 spot worldwide in the QRNW Global Ranking of Transnational Universities (GRTU) 2027.
Institutional Quality: Recognized formally as a #QS_5-Star_Rated_University, SIU holds multiple global honors including the MENAA Customer Satisfaction Award, the Students’ Satisfaction Award, and the Best Modern University Award.
